Chrissy Clarks speak at VRA Webinar

Yesterday our Head of Clinical Services, Chrissy Clark, was delighted to be one of the speakers for the Vocational Rehabilitation Association’s webinar (VRA) discussing the important & highly relevant subject of supporting people in the transition to the ‘new normal’ in a Covid-19 world. Also presenting were Dr Lucy Henshall & Penny Flack who gave a very interesting & thought-provoking presentation on challenges GPs face when attempting to return to work post-accident or illness.

The Office of National Statistics reported this week that 1 in 5 people are said to have suffered with depression in June, which is double that of this time last year. The webinar highlighted the need for acknowledgement of the mental health issues individuals are facing, no matter who they are or what they do & to recognise that feelings can vary greatly between individuals. A compassionate approach towards these struggles is imperative. Chrissy spoke of HCB’s new ‘Returning with you’ service which has been specifically designed to help those feeling anxious about returning to work post CV-19. She highlighted the importance of helping & encouraging employees to get back to their routines & the things they enjoy doing. Taking simple, small steps can be a huge confidence boost.
