HCB’s Managing Director, Jim Harris, visit to the USA

HCB’s Managing Director, Jim Harris, visited the USA last week where he met with members of the management from Professional Disability Associates in Portland, Maine, who are also HCB shareholders, for their annual catch up.

Jim, (pictured with HCB Directors Al Hemond, CEO of PDA, and Kevin Riley, PDA’s President), reported back that the Shareholders were delighted with the strong growth of HCB in the last year, and the positive outlook for the future. Jim also met with other large disability insurance carriers in the US, including MetLife and Lincoln Financial Group, where he held interesting discussions around the difference in claims management strategies between the UK and US.

The visit was planned to coincide with Disability Insurance Awareness Month, (DIAM) which runs for the entire month of May across the US, and is designed to promote consumer awareness of the need for Income Protection Insurance.
